Welcome CBC Community Departments

Welcome to the Christian Brothers College High School Online Course Guide. We invite you to explore the site and discover all the valuable information that it has to offer. The top navigation bar includes links to general information related to grading policies, academic requirements for graduation, and resources that may help guide you through the course planning and pre-registration process. The academic departments are listed on the menu at the right side of each page. Click on any of those links to display course descriptions, prerequisite information, and other useful details for each course offering within the selected department.

While navigating through this site, use the Return to Menu links to instantly bring you back to the top of a page, where you may select another department or course. There is also a Help link on the top navigation bar that will provide you with a list of people who can assist you with any questions that may arise during the pre-registration process.

PRE-REGISTRATION PROCESS

Over the next several weeks, students will participate in the pre-registration process for 2024-2025 school year. During that process, students will make their preliminary course selections for next school year. Students will pre-register online, according to the timeline outlined below.

January 24 - February 9: Counselors and Administrators will explain the pre-registration and course selection process to students in their Advisories based on the following schedule:
Junior Advisory Visits   January 24 & January 26
Sophomore Advisory Visits   February 1 & February 5
Freshman Advisory Visits   February 7 & February 13
February 20: Deadline for students to submit their course selection requests online
February 21 - February 28: Teachers and Department Chairpersons will complete course placement/approval decisions
February 29 - March 18: Counselors will review and approve course selection requests
March 19: Course selection requests will be available on Blackbaud for parent/guardian review
March 25: Pre-registration process will be complete

In order to assist students and parents with the pre-registration process, the Counseling Department has developed a pre-registration worksheet for each grade level. The worksheets, along with the information provided by this Online Course Guide, are great tools to help navigate the pre-registration process. Worksheets have been populated with courses required for graduation, and they also have spaces for students to identify the electives they choose to select. Students are also required to select alternate electives in the event that schedule conflicts prevent them from being placed into one or more of their selected primary electives. As you review and select courses, please pay particular attention to the grade level availability and prerequisites required to register for each course.
