In order to promote communicative competency, the World Languages Department provides opportunities for the student to develop language skills, cultural awareness, and sensitivity. To achieve this competency, the following skills will be taught and assessed in all World Languages classes: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Although not required for graduation from CBC, it is recommended that students complete at least two years of the same world language. Students should be aware that two (and sometimes more) years of a world language are required for admission to many colleges.
